HMG in Bavaria: German Expertise for Hotels, Aparthotels and Residential Developments

Modern technologies, interior and furnishing solutions, German manufacturing quality and Bavarian hospitality — HMG gained practical insights and new business contacts through the “Bayern – Fit for Partnership” programme.

Bayern – Fit for Partnership, 2026

From 11–16 October 2026, Bavaria welcomed a Georgian delegation representing the tourism and hospitality sector. The group brought together hospitality professionals, hotel owners and managers, and representatives of industry organisations. Giorgi Papiashvili represented HMG.

The “Bayern – Fit for Partnership” programme combined business meetings, factory visits and live technology demonstrations with cultural activities. Participants explored German companies’ expertise firsthand and discussed opportunities for future cooperation.

While the programme focused on the hotel and restaurant industry, many of the products and technologies presented have broader applications. Interior materials, furniture, bedding systems, bathroom fittings, lighting and cleaning technologies are also relevant to aparthotels and residential developments, depending on each project’s purpose, usage and service model.

For HMG, the visit offered an opportunity to examine these solutions in practice: how quality is achieved, what shapes guest and resident comfort, and how materials and equipment can support a property’s long-term performance.

Comfort and Quality: From Interior Design to Everyday Use

Visits to Zieher and Rosenthal introduced the delegation to contemporary tableware, buffet systems, professional porcelain and interior collections. Showroom and production tours demonstrated the relationship between design, manufacturing quality and practical use.

At fan frankenstolz, participants explored the production of mattresses, beds and bedding — products essential to comfort in hotel rooms, serviced apartments and private residences alike. Choosing the right sleep system requires consideration of comfort, durability and its intended use.

HMG approaches interior and furnishing decisions from both an aesthetic and a functional perspective: how well a product performs, how easily it can be maintained, and how closely it meets the needs of the space and its users.

Technologies for Daily Operations and Property Care

A live demonstration at beam showcased professional steam cleaning and vacuum systems. Depending on surface compatibility and manufacturer guidance, these technologies can serve hotel rooms, apartments, residential common areas, bathrooms, kitchens and spa facilities.

Seeing the equipment in operation provided a practical basis for assessing cleaning procedures, hygiene requirements and staff workloads.

The visit to RATIONAL focused on professional kitchen technology and cooking processes. These solutions are particularly relevant to hotels, aparthotels and mixed-use residential developments that incorporate restaurants, breakfast areas or centralised food services. At LUSINI, participants explored a broad range of hospitality furnishing and operational supplies.

When assessing equipment, HMG considers purchase price alongside capacity, durability, maintenance requirements and operating costs. Evaluating these factors together helps owners and developers make better-informed investment decisions.

An Integrated Approach to Living and Hospitality Spaces

A key part of the programme was the visit to Hotelkompetenzzentrum, a professional platform for hotel and foodservice development, modernisation and refurbishment. Exhibitions, presentations and business meetings brought together interior solutions, bathroom fittings, lighting, building systems and digital services.

Many of these areas are equally relevant to aparthotels and residential developments. Apartments, shared spaces, leisure facilities and service infrastructure benefit from coordinated decisions across design, technical planning and ongoing property management.

At Hotelkompetenzzentrum, Nata Kvachantiradze, Chairperson of the Georgian Tourism Association, also presented Georgia’s tourism potential and opportunities for international cooperation.

The visit to KristallTurm’s adventure facilities added another perspective: the potential to incorporate active recreation and leisure experiences into resorts, hotels and residential developments of a suitable scale.

Bavaria: Culture, Heritage and Hospitality

The professional programme was complemented by opportunities to experience Bavaria’s cultural heritage and local hospitality. Bayreuth’s historic centre, the UNESCO-listed Margravial Opera House and regional gastronomy formed part of the visit’s cultural and educational dimension.

These experiences offered a visitor’s perspective on how heritage, local identity, food and service work together to shape a destination. Informal gatherings also gave delegation members opportunities to strengthen professional relationships and exchange experiences.

What This Means for HMG’s Clients

The insights and professional contacts gained in Bavaria provide HMG with a broader basis for evaluating materials, furnishings, equipment and technologies for hotels, aparthotels and residential developments.

Each property type has distinct requirements. Hotels demand solutions suited to intensive use and efficient service. Aparthotels combine residential comfort with hospitality operations. Residential developments require everyday convenience, well-designed communal spaces and sustainable long-term maintenance. The value of international expertise lies in adapting it thoughtfully to these needs.

HMG’s objective is to connect concept development, design, furnishing and management within a coherent project strategy — supporting informed investment decisions for owners and developers, comfortable environments for guests and residents, and efficient workflows for operating teams.

HMG thanks the German Business Association — DWV, Bayern International, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, the Georgian Tourism Association and all host companies. Special thanks go to Dr. Ulrich Wild and the organising team for their professional support and warm hospitality.
